RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF SHERWOOD NO. 159
Proposed Bylaw No. 3/21
Public notice is hereby given that the RM of Sherwood No. 159 intends to adopt a new Development Levy Bylaw (Bylaw No. 03/21) under The Planning and Development Act, 2007.
The proposed Development Levy Bylaw will address the need for the RM of Sherwood to recover capital costs incurred as a result of new development. The proposed Bylaw will recover costs by imposing and providing for the payment of Development Levies, authorizing agreements to be entered into with respect to payment of Development Levies, setting out conditions upon which the Levy will be applied to specific land uses, classes of development, and zoning districts, and indicate how the amount of the Levy was determined.
The lands affected by the new Development Levy Bylaw will be all land within the existing RM of Sherwood boundaries.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions the RM of Sherwood office is closed to the public. Therefore, the bylaw is available on the RM of Sherwood website at www.rmofsherwood.ca until the date of the public hearing.
Public Hearing: Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021 at 5:30 pm in the Council Chambers at the RM of Sherwood Office to hear any person or group who wishes to comment on the proposed bylaws. Council will also consider written comments received at the hearing or delivered to the undersigned at the RM of Sherwood office before the hearing. The public hearing will be held electronically.
