PUBLIC NOTICE
RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF SHERWOOD NO. 159

Proposed Bylaw No. 16/20 to amend the Zoning Bylaw No. 18/17 in the RM of Sherwood No. 159

Public notice is hereby given that the RM of Sherwood No. 159 intends to adopt a bylaw under The Planning and Development Act, 2007 to amend the Zoning Bylaw No. 18/17.

Bylaw No. 16/20 is intended to amend Bylaw No. 18/17 as follows:

  • Amendments to remove the CM – Commercial Mixed Use zoning district and replace it with the updated HC – Highway Commercial District to encompass the allowable land uses in these districts;
  • Add, revise and delete land use definitions;
  • revise the permitted and discretionary land uses in the commercial and industrial zoning districts based on the revised definitions while maintaining existing land uses;
  • add Section 3.14 Sight Triangle to ensure clear sight lines at intersections;
  • add Section 4.22 Storage Containers and add ‘storage container’ as a land use in appropriate Zoning districts;
  • Map 8 – rezone the existing CM – Commercial Mixed Use parcels, and some AG – Agricultural Parcels to HC – Highway Commercial.

2. Rezoning from AG to HC: Blk/Par G-Plan FK5302 Ext 2 in the NE Sec. 36-16-20 W2M

3. The proposed textual amendments apply to the entire R.M. of Sherwood in accordance with the Zoning District requirements.

Public Inspection:  Any person may inspect the proposed bylaws at the RM of Sherwood Office between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday excluding statutory holidays.  Copies are available at cost.  The bylaw is also available on the RM of Sherwood website at www.rmofsherwood.ca

Public Hearing:  Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 15th, 2021 at 5:30 pm in the Council Chambers at the RM of Sherwood Office to hear any person or group who wishes to comment on the proposed bylaws.  Council will also consider written comments received at the hearing or delivered to the undersigned at the RM of Sherwood office before the hearing.
