PUBLIC NOTICE
RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF SHERWOOD NO. 159

Proposed Bylaw No. 02/24 to amend the Zoning Bylaw No. 18/17 in the RM of Sherwood No. 159
&
Proposed Bylaw No. 03/24 to amend the Official Community Plan, Bylaw No. 16/16 in the RM of Sherwood No. 159

Public notice is hereby given that the RM of Sherwood No. 159 intends to adopt new bylaws under The Planning and Development Act, 2007 to amend The Zoning Bylaw No. 18/17, and The Official Community Plan, Bylaw No. 16/16.

Bylaws No. 02/24, and No. 03/24 are intended to amend Bylaw No. 18/17 and Bylaw No. 16/16 as follows:

  • Zoning Map 1 (and Index 3) is amended by rezoning from Agricultural (AG) to Medium and Heavy Industrial (I2);
  • Zoning Map 1 (and Index 8) is amended by rezoning from Business/Office Commercial (BC) to Agricultural (AG);
  • Amendments to site requirements within SW 18-16-19 W2M;
  • Amendments to refine signage regulations and terminology;
  • Amendments to the OCP to clarify application of servicing areas in the Development Levy Bylaw; and
  • Revisions to general terminology throughout both bylaws.

 

AFFECTED LAND:
Rezoning from AG to I2 – Proposed Parcel A within SE 17-18-19 W2M
Rezoning from BC to AG – Parcel D, Plan FL4374 Ext 1
Increase of Maximum allowable parcels – SW 18-16-19 W2M (Rowatt)

The additional proposed textual amendments of Bylaws No. 02/24 and No. 03/24 apply to the entire R.M. of Sherwood.

Public Inspection:  Any person may inspect the proposed bylaws at the RM of Sherwood Office between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday excluding statutory holidays.  Copies are available at cost.  The bylaw is also available on the RM of Sherwood website at www.rmofsherwood.ca

Public Hearing:  Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 5:30 pm in the Council Chambers at the RM of Sherwood Office to hear any person or group who wishes to comment on the proposed bylaws.  Council will also consider written comments received at the hearing or delivered to the undersigned at the RM of Sherwood office before the hearing.
